Shreveport Man Arrested, Suspected of Stealing $13,000+ in Purses
A lot of folks are out Christmas shopping right now, filling up their buggies with gifts for friends and families alike. I guess then, it only makes sense that petty criminals are also out in force trying to fill their baskets with ill-gotten gains.
According to KNOE, that's what 21-year old Donovan Mosely from Shreveport and an unnamed minor are accused of doing at the Pecanland Mall in Monroe. The corrupt crew cut the anti-theft devices off of high-end handbags at Dillard's and Belk, a shoplifting spree that totaled more than $13,000 in pilfered purses.
According to the report, that breaks down to $10,470 worth of purses from Dillard's, and $3,465 in stolen purses from Belk. On top of that, both Mosely and his 15-year old shoplifting sidekick (also from Shreveport) have a record that shows this isn't the first time dimwitted duo have been arrested for stealing.
Mosely is now sitting in the Ouachita Correctional Center charged with two counts each of criminal conspiracy, felony shoplifting, and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
