Shreveport Mudbugs Advance in NAHL Playoffs
Look at us, on the doorstep of June and still watching our Mudbugs play hockey.
I've written about it countless times, but the Shreveport Mudbugs spoil us fans, and they always have. Heck, after over two decades of hockey in Shreveport-Bossier, the Mudbugs have only missed the playoffs once. That was in 2001, I believe.
The Mudbugs took on the Amarillo Bulls in a fierce best-of-five series to kick of the NAHL playoffs. Things certainly didn't start the way we would have liked. Despite being the heavy-favorite, the Mudbugs fell hard in game one, losing 4-1. That rarely happens, and even more so when it comes to Mudbugs in the playoffs, but it's not how you start. The Mudbugs certainly finished strong, winning the next three games, all in dramatic fashion. The Bugs won games two and three in overtime, and won by one goal in regulation to close the series earlier tonight.
Now, the 'Bugs will turn their attention to the Wichita Falls Warriors. The Mudbugs and the Warriors have had a ton of heated matchups already this season, so round two is shaping up to be a good one.
The 'Bugs will kick off round two in Shreveport, with home games coming up next Friday and Saturday night, June 4th and 5th.
