Take a look inside the Mudbugs' locker room when Coach Chris realized he was going to Blaine, MN with the team.

Anyone remotely involved with the Mudbugs organization knows Coach Chris. He has been a fan of the Mudbugs for a long time, and simply put, he's one of the nicest guys you could ever hope to meet.

I can say from experience that you'd be hard-pressed to find a guy that can light up an entire room or arena as easily as Coach Chris can. I always enjoy our quick chats and fist bumps during the games, he's simply a great guy.

While Coach Chris enjoyed being a fan of the Mudbugs, he very much wanted more. The Mudbugs delivered last season, making him an equipment manager on the team. This season, Mudbugs' head coach Jason Campbell had something even more special in mind. This season, the Mudbugs created a new position with only one man in mind. They welcomed Chris onto the coaching staff under his new position of, "Honorary Assistant Coach."

This season, Coach Chris has been an invaluable part of the team, often giving motivational speechless with the players and helping the coaches with the game plan.

Last weekend, the Shreveport Mudbugs won the South division outright by sweeping the Wichita Falls Warriors and advanced to the Robertson Cup semi-finals in Blaine, MN. The semis take place this weekend, and thanks to Mudbugs fans, staff, players, and parents, they'll have their honorary assistant coach with them.

Shortly after advancing, a Mudbugs fan launched a GoFundMe to make sure Coach Chris and his mom would be able to make the long trip to Minnesota with the team. The goal of $2,000 was met within a day, with the total amount rising to over $3,300 as of this writing.

Coach Chris will be with the Shreveport Mudbugs as they play for their second Robertson Cup since joining the NAHL.
