Shreveport Native Featured On Real Housewifes of Atlanta

A local Shreveport star has made her way into homes nationwide through one of Bravo's most popular titles. In the new season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, you can catch Shreveport's own Monyetta Shaw-Carter.

Monyetta is an actress, author, philanthropist, and in the new season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, she's a "Friend". Well, actually she took up that position during the last season, but she's returned for Season 15.

What is a "Friend" on the show? Well, there are three roles that people fill in the "Housewives" franchise. There are "Main" cast, "Friend" roles, and "Guest" roles. The "Main" roles are filled by the cast who will be prominently featured, while "Friends" show up regularly. The "Guests" are more like cameos.

In Season 14 of the show, Monyetta came into the cast in the "Friend" role, and was such a hit, she's back for Season 15.

Prior to the "Housewives" show, Monyetta had roles in multiple movies. Including two films produced in the Shreveport area. Her acting credits include "Soul Men", "Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins", "All That Matters", and "I Wish I Never Met You".

In addition to her acting resume, Monyetta is an author. She's written multiple books including "Keep It Classy", "Bigger Than Me", and even children's books like "The Adventures of Maddie" and "The Chronicles of Nice Guy Maso".
