Early in the school day, detectives arrested a C.E. Byrd High School student for threating gun violence at school through a social media post. The threat was reported by another student who saw it posted on Instagram.

While reviewing the evidence, detectives were able to determine the identity of the student who posted the message. Deputies contacted the teen and the student's mother. The teenager was read their Miranda rights. Just a few minutes later, the teenager admitted to posting the message because of anger toward a teacher.

The juvenile was charged with one count of terrorizing. The student was released back to their parent and is suspended from school pending a hearing.
