Shreveport Could See Damaging Severe Weather This Afternoon
Though all of the Arklatex is in dire need of a good dose of much needed rain, that rain could come in today with a little vengeance.
The National Weather Service in Shreveport is warning us to be prepared for the possibility of some pretty nasty weather that should roll through the area this afternoon and tonight.
Forecasters with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration place all of Northwest Louisiana, some of East Texas and a large swath of Southwest Arkansas at "Marginal Risk" of this severe weather from mid to late this afternoon through tonight.
Though experts thankfully don't forecast much chance for tornadoes, they are still a very low threat.
We could see damaging winds up to sixty miles per hour, hail up to 3/4 inch in diameter and a marginal risk of heavy rain and possible flash flooding.
Obviously we will be monitoring this situation closely and will keep you informed of any updated information the minute we get it.
