Shreveport Shows Up for Nursing Home Spreading Love and Joy
The Bradford Nursing & Rehabilitation center caught the attention of Shreveport-Bossier residents when they were asking for the community to show up for their elderly residents.
This Facebook Post Caught My Eye Because It Promised Me a Valentine.
Okay so maybe that's not what was really happening but it was my interpretation of it. The Bradford Nursing Home was asking Shreveport to share the love and become a pen pal of some sort for their residents who wouldn't be getting any letters or treats for Valentine's Day.
Here Is the Post That Caught our Attention:
"Valentines Day is almost here and we want our residents to feel every ounce of love they can possibly feel. As we spread the love we would like for the community to come out and help us spread the love to our residents with us"
The Task Was Simple, Send Valentine's Day Treats and Letters With Some of the Most Wonderful Elderly Members of Shreveport.
Our community showed up and showed out. Many of us adopted new family members, yes this makes them our grandparents now. The staff at the Bradford had the sweetest thank you for our community.
"Valentine's Day at the Bradford! Our Shreveport community and beyond showed up in a mighty way for our residents today. We are overwhelmed with gratitude. Our residents received so many gifts, letters, handcrafted cards, candy, necessities and so much more from near and far! All the smiles told it all! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Changing the world one kind act at a time!"
If you were one of the many that made this day full of joy happen thank you. Your love and kindness made us smile.
