A Wedding DJ’s Secret for Brides: The Most Underrated Thing About Shreveport Venues
Although many people in the South are convinced that weddings hit the pause button during the heat of the summer, I'm here to tell you that's far from the truth. We're all out there celebrating beautiful weddings, and a summer wedding in Shreveport can be truly magical.
If you’re a bride-to-be, you're likely going to these weddings, soaking it all in, and taking notes on what works, and what doesn't. Yes, you may have one of the best wedding planners in Shreveport-Bossier, but even they'll tell you that your wedding should be exactly what you've been picturing. Getting to see different venues and setups firsthand is the perfect way to figure out what you want.
What Makes for a Great Wedding Venue?
From my perspective as a wedding DJ, I've had the chance to work with amazing coordinators and check out countless venues in the Shreveport-Bossier area. We all have our own views on what makes a venue great, but there are a few things we can all agree on. Beautiful scenery paired with a great staff is always a winning combination. However, there are a few other things that are often underrated. You’ve probably been to a wedding where the ceremony has a gorgeous view, but then the trek to the reception feels like a hike. A venue that offers beautiful scenery without a long journey for your guests is a huge plus. And I can't stress this enough, especially here in Louisiana, you have to think about the air conditioning! While some outdoor venues are stunning, the intense heat for half the year really trims down your options. No one wants to spend the whole time sweating. Shoutout to The Barn at Coyote Creek and Venue De Lachute for having some of the best AC units around; they are a game-changer.
The best wedding venues are a combination of scenery, great staff, and smart logistics. If you're currently in the process of planning, here are a few options in the Shreveport-Bossier area to get you started.
