Meet Shreveport’s First Baby of the Year
With the new year, many people see a promise of change and new beginnings, one family from Many, Louisiana received a beautiful gift on January 1st that marks an epic new beginning for them, the birth of a healthy baby boy. This little bundle of joy came into the world at 1:09 a.m. measuring 19 inches long and he weighed 8 pounds and 1 ounce.
Baby Charlie was born at Willis-Knighton Pierrmont in Shreveport. Willis-Knighton sent the information out claiming that Charlie was the first baby born in 2025 in Shreveport.
Charlie was born to Haleigh and Trenice Maines and he has an excited older brother ready to meet him. We just want to know what hair products baby Charlie is rocking, have you seen that fabulous head of hair?
According to the CDC.gov, the number of births in America in 2022 was 3,667,758. The number dropped in 2023 to 3,596,017, babies born which is a 2% decrease. There was an increase in births that began during the COVID-19 pandemic and it seems that the jump in births is on the decline again.
It is no secret that the birth rate in America has been steadily decreasing due to readily available contraception and several young adults have delayed having children.
