I think it's safe to say that pretty much everybody in the Shreveport-Bossier City area loves it when the movies come to town.  It's pretty cool to know that big-time celebrities are hanging out in our town, and it's cool to see our town up on the big screen!  There is one major downside that non-movie-star folks in the area will have to deal with this weekend: Closed movie sets.

This Movie Set Will Be a Bit More Inconvenient for Shreveport-Bossier Residents

Sure, it can be easy to find an alternate way to get where you're going if a closed movie set happens to be in your path - but what if that set shuts down one whole side of a very popular bridge over the Red River?  That's exactly what the report from Bossier Now says is in store for Shreveport-Bossier City residents looking to cross over using the Shreveport-Barksdale Bridge.

This Film Set Will Have the Bridge at Half-Capacity for the Whole Weekend

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) will be shutting down both westbound-lanes of the popular bridge on Saturday (November 13th) morning.  The closure is to make sure film professionals have plenty of room on the bridge to make movie magic.  Barricades and detour signs are scheduled to be in place until the evening of Sunday, November 14th - when the crew is done filming in this location.

If You Wanted to Know Which Movie is Shutting Down the Bridge, You're Going to Be Disappointed

As far as what movie will be (at least in part) filmed on the busy bridge, the DOTD wouldn't say.  According to the report, however, there are currently 3 big-budget films being made in the area.  “Heart Of A Lion,” the George Foreman biopic; “The Man in the White Van,”; and “The Vanishing at Caddo Lake,” produced by M. Night Shyamalan are all currently in production in Northwest Louisiana.  Unless you can drive by in the eastbound lane while their working and guess, we'll have to wait until these films are released to find out just which one it is.

The 13 Highest Rated Spooky Movies Filmed In Shreveport

For these spooky movies, our location information and user ratings come from IMDB. All of these movies are listed by IMDB to be filmed in Shreveport, even if it was just some scenes, reshoots, or the whole movie.

Comic Book Movie Stars Who Have Worked In Shreveport

We utilized IMDB's filming location database to help put this together. However there is one movie listed there that we didn't include. IMDB lists X-Men Origins: Wolverine on their Shreveport list, but we struggled to find citing for this. So we just left it off. Some of these stars weren't in comic book "movies" specifically.

But we counted the Netflix Marvel shows, and MCU Disney+ shows as well.

We also added in an odd option...pro wrestlers. Pro wrestling has been a big deal in the Shreveport area for a long time, so we're going to include the wrestlers who've worked in the Shreveport area, and went on to comic book movie fame.
