Today is the day everyone is Irish.  But did you know that St. Patty isn't Irish?

He was born in 385 AD in Wales, that's right the patron saint of Ireland is Welsh!  This is particularly awesome for me, because my family is of Welsh decent.  However, I will say that this means very little - because when he made his way back to Ireland, he made a huge impact.

Regardless of where he was born, we will be celebrating his impact on the world tonight!  At some point, you will probably be given the opportunity to give a toast.  Do you know what to say?  Here are 3 toasts guaranteed to raise a glass (or twenty).

Beannachtam na Femle Padraig - This may take a little practice to pronounce, but the authentic Irishness of this toast is sure to win the day.  It translates to "Happy St. Patricks Day."  Plus, if you mispronounce it - no one will know.

May our son and daughters have rich fathers and beautiful mothers!

May misfortune follow you the rest of your life, but never catch up!

Use these in good health, and be safe tonight
