As expected, Star Wars: The Force Awakens broke all kinds of box office records with an estimated $238 million in its first three days in release, making it the all-time highest first-week opening since Jurassic World earlier this year.

At a distant second was Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip with $14.4 million, followed by Sisters, starring Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, which took in a not-too-shabby $13.4 million.

Last week's No. 1, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, fell to fourth place with $5.6 million, and Creed came in fifth with $5 million.
