Trick-or-Treating Has Been a Huge Celebration in America Since the 1920s.

Did you know that trick-or-treating has been around for almost 100 years? It didn't become popular until after World War II. Several people blame the baby boom for the huge jump in Halloween festivities, but we enjoy all the festivities.

We love seeing so many trunk-or-treat events in our community. The countless Halloween parties that take over several clubs and bars downtown are a blast every single year, however, one of the best experiences that I have ever had was trick-or-treating.

The first time I went trick-or-treating was in high school and I remember thinking how could I have missed out on this my entire childhood? Since then I have vowed to be part of all my nephews and nieces' trick-or-treating experiences. There have been some experiences that one would consider a bust or a fail, you've experienced that right? Where people are speeding through the neighborhood and there isn't enough light in the neighborhood and instead of it being an enjoyable night you're stressed out praying that everyone stays safe.

Who knows great neighborhoods to trick or treat better than you? We took to Facebook to ask residents of Shreveport-Bossier where they love to take their kids for the best trick-or-treat experience and these are the neighborhoods chosen. Are we missing any great spots?
