The Chica & The Bald Guy Teacher of the Week is LaTrecy Roberson

Every week, Chica & the Bald Guy search the Shreveport/Bossier City area (commonly referred to as the SBC) for your favorite teacher.  Every single person who chooses the teaching lifestyle does so knowing that they will most likely never get rich for it.  The fearless men and women that face a class full (or more) of our kids day in and day out deserve much more than they get - especially now.

Teachers had to find some way to continue teaching our (and their) kids, and they've done it.  Without knowing how, they've figured it out.  That is a bonafide miracle when you consider that a lot of us can't wrap our heads around it enough to help them!

It is in that spirit that we seek to recognize one educator a week who goes above and beyond the call of duty for her students!  This week, the exemplary person we are recognizing as The Chica & The Bald Guy Teacher of the Week is Turner Elementary Middle School Pre-K teacher LaTrecy Roberson!

LaTrecy was nominated by Shaquavia Durden.  Judging from the letter Shaquavia wrote, it's easy to see why she thinks so highly of the woman who taught her and her daughter!  Here's what she had to say about this amazing educator:

I want to nominate Ms.Roberson, because she has always been an excellent teacher! Ironically enough, she was my pre-k teacher over 20 years ago, and now my daughter and so many other children get to experience the light she gives to her students! She has been active with all her students even during quarantine, keeping young minds engaged during these strange times; especially for little ones age 4 and 5. She host zoom calls twice a week for the students to see their friends they miss and her passion for educating her students shines in and outside the classroom. Ms.Roberson is a teacher I hope all students get the chance to experience in their life, one who teaches students to love to learn and have fun while doing so.
