Thrillers Top Weekend Box Office

"Gone Girl", starring Ben Affleck and directed by David Fincher, squeaked past runner-up "Annabelle" to take the top spot in this weekend's box office.

"Gone Girl" took in an estimated $38 million over the weekend. "Annabelle" came in a close second with $37.2 million. Last week's No. 1, "The Equalizer", dropped to third place with $19 million.
