Comparing the numbers from 2020 to 2021, our population decline has continued and this now makes at least eight years in a row.  This means that more people have moved out of the state than the number of those moving into the state.

Experts suggest that the root cause for the mass exodus from Louisiana is economics.  Some are just looking for greener pastures when it comes to job opportunities and higher salaries.

Of course, some suggest it's the high crime rates or political issues.  While I'm sure there's merit to all of those ideas, I think our listeners have truly hit the nail on the head when we asked them why so many people have decided to move out of the Bayou State.
