"A KCS train and an 18-wheeler collided in north Caddo Parish this morning. There were no injuries, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.
Just after 6 a.m., the driver of the truck was traveling westbound on Mira Myrtis Road when he crossed the tracks and got the cab stuck in the mud. The trailer was still on the tracks when it was struck by an approaching northbound train.
The truck was carrying approximately 240,000 empty tin cans, which were scattered along the scene of the crash.
The driver of the truck, Bedriy Mohammed Ali, 40, of Dallas, was issued a ticket by Caddo deputies for failure to maintain a lane.
Deputies are diverting traffic on Mira Myrtis Road at Hosston-Rodessa Road while the accident is investigated and the area is cleaned up of all debris. "
