U.S. Marshals Recover 8 Missing Children in New Orleans
A 2 month investigation by the U.S. Marshal's Service has seen 8 missing children recovered in the New Orleans area. The two operations were put in to play by U.S. Marshals Service Eastern District of Louisiana New Orleans Task Force Missing Child Unit (MCU) and Sex Offender Investigations Branch (SOIB).
The investigation also uncovered several instances of alleged human sex trafficking.
Investigations as part of the two-month MCU operation also uncovered allegations of human sex trafficking of minors during several of the cases, according to the Marshals Office.
The SOIB operation resulted in the capture of six fugitives including a New Orleans warrant for sexual battery on a minor. One man was arrested on a warrant for production of child pornography, and another man was arrested for aggravated rape and kidnapping.
