This mask incident is insane, and when it was all said and done, one West Monroe man was behind bars.

Louisiana's mask mandate has only been in affect for a week, yet absolutely insane mask stories and videos are popping up left and right. This mask-related incident is the next to join the list of completely avoidable altercations involving masks.

At a Wal-Mart in West Monroe, 64-year old Ricky Taylor refused to wear a mask after being asked to do so by Wal-Mart staff. When he became belligerent, a police officer working inside of the Wal-Mart intervened, and things went haywire.

The officer informed Taylor he was being trespassed from that Wal-Mart location, and Taylor went ballistic. After refusing to give his identification, Taylor left the store and went straight for his car. West Monroe Police Chief Jeff Terrell says, "The officer was recording the license plate number on his vehicle, and at that point Mr. Taylor got in his vehicle and at that point he bumped the officer.” Yes, bumped the police officer WITH HIS CAR.

A second officer arrived on the scene quickly and made the arrest, despite an intense struggle from Taylor.

Taylor was booked on charges of resisting an officer, aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, and disturbing the peace.
