Where Are the Best Places for Our Military Veterans to Retire?
We have many veterans in the Ark-La-Tex. Where will they retire?
Memorial Day weekend is rapidly approaching. It's a time to honor those men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedom in this country. While we pay our respects to these individuals, we also honor those who are still with us. We have tons of veterans in our area, some just starting their military career, others nearing the end of their contract. So where does one retire after serving this great nation?
Believe it or not, some places are better than others.
According to WalletHub.com, the best state for our military veterans to retire is Florida. This is based on research the website conducted looking at contributing factors like veterans per capita, the number of Veteran Affairs facilities, job opportunities and several other socioeconomic indicators.
Out of the Ark-La-Tex, only Texas made the list of top 10 places for our retiring veterans.

Where did Louisiana and Arkansas land? Arkansas came in at number 21 while Louisiana was number 32.
