Why Shreveport’s Norton Art Gallery Video Has Everyone Laughing
The R.W. Norton Art Gallery is One of the Most Beautiful Spaces in Shreveport.
The R.W. Norton Art Gallery is a museum surrounded by lush gardens that houses a collection of iconic American and European art and rare books. Since its opening in 1966, the museum has become well-known as a teaching museum.
Richard W. Norton was one of the discoverers of the Rodessa Oil Field in north Louisiana in the early 1920s, and he loved art. Mr. Norton's wife and son began collecting fine art. In 1946, to honor Mr. Norton, Richard W. Norton, Jr. and his mother, Mrs. Richard W. Norton created the R.W. Norton Art Foundation. The foundation eventually established the R.W. Norton Art Gallery, using the collection upon donations from the acquisitions of the Nortons.
It Isn't Just Art at the R.W. Norton Art Gallery, We Also Have Norton Botanical Gardens.
Some claim that the botanical gardens in Shreveport are the most beautiful in the south and you can go see for yourself. The gardens are open Wednesday through Sunday from sunrise to sunset. No private, commercial photography or videography is allowed inside the museum or on the grounds. The only exception is for school-affiliated educational photography classes.
There is a new trend on social media where boomers are using scripts written by Gen Z employees. It has turned into one of my favorite trends on social media. We love seeing local places jump in on the fun. R.W. Norton Art Gallery let one of their interns write an epic script and one of their employees served it up. Whoever this employee is that Norton tapped to execute the video, deserves a raise. We love her and need her to be the one who "serves up" tours with all her "brat energy".
R.W. Norton Art Gallery is located at 4747 Creswell Ave., Shreveport, Louisiana
