Baton Rouge: One of the Worst U.S. Capital Cities to Live In
Every state has one city that sits above the rest, not literally, just legislatively. Each state's capital city can be a shining reflection of what the rest of the state has to offer, or it can be almost like an entire world of its own. No matter what each capital has something to offer.
A new study has collected data from Baton Rouge and all other 49 state capitals to find out which ones are the best and worst to live in, using data like crime rate, average income, poverty data, unemployment rate, housing costs, and number of attractions.
Baton Rouge Is One Of The Most Economically Challenged Capital Cities
Baton Rouge, the capital of the Boot State, was among the least affordable capitals in America and had the lowest average economic well-being. Affordability and economic well-being are determined by things like the cost of living, average credit scores, unemployment rate, foreclosure rate, etc.
Baton Rouge also had the 3rd highest crime rate of capital cities in America. Despite such a high crime rate it's not to blame for the poor economic state of the city, often crime is a consequence that follows poverty.
Louisiana's Capital Is The Worst US Capital City To Live in
Of all 50 state capitals, Baton Rouge is the 4th worst capital city to call home. Baton Rouge is among the worst cities to live in because of such a challenging economy and sub-standard quality of life.
The biggest factor in why Baton Rouge is the 4th worst American capital is the low quality of education and health within the city, grading as the 2nd worst for all American capitals.
