The stock market is always at the forefront of the news and now, to the delight of all in Louisiana, the price of crawfish can be at the forefront of your daily news.

Last year there was speculation that the 2025 Crawfish season would be a bust in Louisiana. Thankfully the drought conditions from before this year didn't stop Louisiana from grabbing the Tony's and getting everyone together from a boil, and for pretty cheap too.

Drought? Have No Doubt, Louisiana Still Has Crawfish.

Due to the drought of 2023 in Louisiana, some thought it could take years for Louisiana's crawfish ecosystems to recover. This meant that crawfish was likely to be very expensive for the next few years, and it was expensive for the next one.

It was in 2024 that we first felt the shocks of the drought with crawfish costing nearly $15/pound in some places. Thankfully, 2025 won't deal with the same crazy prices as last year, which are available for $3.49 per live pound at the Brookshire Grocery on Highway 80 in Shreveport, and we have The Crawfish App and the username "MILLER" on the app for that info.

Investing In Crawfish Like My 401k Depends on It

The Crawfish App is available on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store and might be one of the greatest things to grace the smartphones of Louisianians.

The app is pretty simple, it asks you to put in your current location, and then you can see the most recently reported price of crawfish per pound at local restaurants and stores. You can switch between the prices of live or boiled crawfish, read reviews of each place, and see how far you are from each place.

Well, what happens when you get to the store after the app said crawfish was $4.99 a pound and now it's $6.99 a pound? Easy, you can update the price in the app to show the new price. Anytime the prices is outdated on the app anyone with an account can come and update the price to make sure the most recent one is shown.
