Another Shreveport restaurant has closed its doors for good. The closing signs went up a few weeks ago at the McDonald's on Youree Drive, but no date was posted for the closing. And now the restaurant is closed. The fast food burger spot shut down this past weekend.

There has been some speculation that the building would be remodeled and reopened as a flashier McDonald's but that is not expected. It wasn't too long ago that the Burger King just down the road closed its doors for good.

What could happen with the old McDonald's location? There has been lots of speculation about this. One of the best theories I have heard is a Southern Classic Chicken spot. No doubt it would be popular and attract large crowds.

But there is concern that this building is outdated and would need lots of upgrades before it could be ready for a new restaurant. And this location will soon have more fast food restaurant competition.

Drew Brees and his partners are opening up a Smalls Sliders location just down the road at Youree and Carroll Street. They will feature sliders and milk shakes. This will be the first Smalls Sliders in the Shreveport Bossier City area.

It also looks like Daqs Wings and Grill will be opening up soon at the old Burger King, but we don't have a timetable for that restaurant yet. They are still working on getting all the permits in place to open up.

Whatever becomes of it, you can bet some investors will snap up that prime spot on Youree Drive and try to make a go of another restaurant. But my vote would definitely be for a Southern Classic Chicken operation.
