2024 Geek’d Con Guest Helps Celebrate TMNT Anniversary

Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, is coming back to Downtown Shreveport this August. The 2024 Geek'd Con will take place August 16th, 17th, and 18th, at the Shreveport Convention Center.

The guest lineup will include horror movie icon Tony Todd, Scrubs star John C. McGinley, the voice of Master Chief Steve Downes, award winning actor Billy Zane, the voice of Mickey Mouse Bret Iwan, and many more incredibly talented celebrities. But its not just the stars of film and TV, we have a second event happening inside Geek'd Con.

In addition to having a bunch of celebrities at the event, there will be some of tour favorite comic book artists will be at the event too. Including John Lucas.

Lucas has worked on over a dozen comic books featuring everyone's favorite Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool. Including books under the titles Deadpool, Uncanny X-Force, and Wolverine.

Beyond Deadpool, you can find John Lucas' work on the pages of some of comics biggest names. He's also worked on books like Batman, The Punisher, X-Men, Superman, Daredevil, The Fantastic Four, and more. Some of his cover art can be found on The Crow, Negative Burn, and Kiss comics. Lucas worked on the entire run of Marvel's Civil War: Front Line too.

Now, Lucas is helping to celebrate one of the biggest comic book titles in history, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT).

This year is the 40th anniversary of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and their publisher IDW are going all out to celebrate. This includes a relaunch of the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles title. As part of that celebration and relaunch, there will be numerous variant covers issued.

One of those variants will be through Wonderberry's Comics, and the cover art is created by Geek'd Con guest, John Lucas...

The variant is currently available through Wonderberry's website, but you better hurry, because there are only 750 copies. Meaning this is a very limited variant. If you're able to get your hands on one, you could bring it to Geek'd Con this August to get John Lucas to sign it too.

John Lucas will be joining a huge list of guests in Shreveport this year, and you can be a part of the show too. Tickets are on-sale now.

Having all of these stars at Geek'd Con gives you the ability to get autographs in person, and also your chance to get pictures with those celebrities. Most celebrities are all about taking selfies at their booths, but they also give you the chance to have a professional photo taken too. Though some of the guests do not do pictures at their tables, and only do Pro Photo Ops.
