East Texas Star Wars Fighter Coming to Shreveport for Geek’d Con
Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, is coming back to Downtown Shreveport this August. The 2024 Geek'd Con will take place August 16th, 17th, and 18th, at the Shreveport Convention Center.
Tickets for this year's Geek'd Con are available right now. You can get yours here.
The guest lineup will include horror movie icon Tony Todd, Scrubs star John C. McGinley, the voice of Master Chief Steve Downes, award winning actor Billy Zane, the voice of Mickey Mouse Bret Iwan, and many more incredibly talented celebrities.
Joining that list will be an Ark-La-Tex resident, Barry Hanley will now be coming to Geek'd Con!
Barry was born and bred in Ireland, but has made his way to our region, residing in East Texas. But he's very familiar with Shreveport, as he became a 318 Great working on the film Olympus Has Fallen in Shreveport. Not only that, but Barry has played rugby for Shreveport RFC!
While he has worked across the MCU on projects like Black Panther, Antman and the Wasp, and Loki, he's likely best known for his work in a galaxy far, far away.
Barry has gained fan-favorite status for his epic fight as a Gamorrean fighter in The Mandalorian. The role was so well received, it was immortalized as a Funko POP! figure in 2021.
You can also see him in Big George Foreman as real-life heavyweight fighter Steve Zouski.
Over his stunt career, Barry has worked on projects like Twisted Metal, The Purge, NCIS New Orleans, Tulsa King, Mayfair Witches, and more. Often appearing in physical fights and shootouts on-camera.
Come join Barry at Geek'd Con this August! Tickets are on-sale now.
Having all of these stars at Geek'd Con gives you the ability to get autographs in person, and also your chance to get pictures with those celebrities. Most celebrities are all about taking selfies at their booths, but they also give you the chance to have a professional photo taken too.
Though some of the guests do not do pictures at their tables, and only do Pro Photo Ops. Here's a look at how much celebrities may charge for autographs and pictures:
