Because of its hefty you-know-what, the French banned and removed a giant marble statue of Apollo in the 1970s after people began complaining of its indecency.

Now, more than 30 years later, the well-endowed sculpture is being, uh, re-erected smack dab in the middle of the Place Massena in Nice, France.

It isn't so much that Apollo's goods are disproportionate, but more so the fact that his 7-meter high and 7-ton visage yield an impressive nether region. Before it was taken down, the statue was subject to vandalizing by delinquents and scrutiny by groups like The League of Feminine Virtue (who ultimately dethroned Apollo in 1979).

Thanks to overwhelming support to bring Apollo back, he'll finally be re-erected on Jun. 21
