There has been a lot of talk about schools across the country moving to all virtual learning this holiday season. With some states moving their high schools to all virtual, while keeping K-8 grades with in-person classes.

Today, Bossier Parish Schools sent out a notice to families about their plans for school after the Thanksgiving break. The release said:

"Several of our schools are getting questions about whether or not classes will be held following Thanksgiving break. We want to reassure our families there have been no discussions about going all-virtual at Bossier Schools. That would be disruptive to the families of more than 21,000 students attending daily and a last resort. Bossier Schools will continue to adhere to all protocols and mitigation measures in place and urge everyone to practice social distancing, frequent handwashing and wearing a mask to protect yourselves and others."

Which is good news for the parents of those 21,000+ students. But also doesn't mean that's the end of the story either.

The release indicated that there is no discussion of making the change after Thanksgiving, but is worded to leave the larger Winter Break at the end of the year out of this decision. Also, this is clearly a decision made at the Parish level, but could be superseded by a decision made at the State level.
