Want to Be In a Movie? ‘Cabin Girl’ Casting Extras in Shreveport

I don't know about you, but it sure seems like Shreveport has been hot in the movie department lately to me. A new film is set to start shooting in our city this month, and producers need to hire some locals to really flesh out the scenes. That means some residents of the SBC might get their big break in showbusiness in the very near future.
According to the ArkLaTex Homepage, Millennium Studios is searching locals to serve in background roles in town, bar, and hospital scenes for the thriller "Cabin Girl." No word on if these roles would be paid or unpaid.
Don't get this call for extras mixed up with another film also set to start production in Shreveport this spring. A movie called "The Blind," is scheduled to begin shooting in April, and is also looking for extras. With all of these films needing good, local talent - it might be time to get an agent!
The studio producing the film is the same Millennium Studios that was recently purchased by the City of Shreveport. The studio has been instrumental in bringing film productions to the city, and will reportedly focus on the digital aspect of movie making next. The studio is home to Worldwide FX - a renowned animation and visual effects group. With the studio and world class digital effects capabilities, it's a pretty safe bet that more film productions will flock to the Shreveport area in the very near future.
