Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, is coming back to Downtown Shreveport this August. The 2024 Geek'd Con will take place August 16th, 17th, and 18th, at the Shreveport Convention Center. The event has hosted tons of celebrities over the last 9 years from all types of entertainment. From movie stars to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members, with viral internet celebrities and professional wrestlers mixed in as well.

The event has become one of the biggest pop culture events in the entire state of Louisiana. Drawing fans and vendors from every corner of the United States, and creating millions of dollars in economic impact for the Shreveport and Bossier City area.

This year's Geek'd Con event will feature award winning actor Henry Thomas.

Henry Thomas blasted onto the pop culture landscape as the lead role of Elliott in the film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. For his work as Elliott, he won a Young Artist Award, and nominations for a Golden Globe, BAFTA Award, and Saturn Award.

Thomas also had roles in the movies Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, The Last Ride (where he played Hank Williams Sr.), Cloak & Dagger, Fire in the Sky, Legends of the Fall, Suicide Kings, All the Pretty Horses, Gangs of New York, and Dear John.

Thomas was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Miniseries or Television Film for his role in the television film Indictment: The McMartin Trial.

Over the last few years, Thomas has started collaborated with writer/director Mike Flanagan. Thomas has partnered with Flanagan on the projects Ouija: Origin of Evil, Gerald's Game, The Haunting of Hill House and its follow-up series The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, and The Fall of the House of Usher.

Thomas also worked on the sequel to The Shining, Doctor Sleep, where he played Jack Torrance.
