Before Geek’d Con X See These Movies on Your Next Date Night
Geek'd Con celebrates its 10th anniversary at the Shreveport Convention Center this August, and maybe you've got an anniversary date night of your own coming up soon. If you and your date want to get in the Geek'd spirit, we've got three of the best movies handpicked for your next date night, and they all feature stars who you'll see at Geek'd Con X.
Date Night Movie #1: Superman (2025)
The most recent movie in this list earns the right as your next date night movie because you can still see this one in theaters, and who doesn't love a theater date night? Since the movie's release, it has been one of the best-received superhero films in recent years. Mikaela Hoover plays Cat Grant in the movie and will be a guest at Geek'd Con X this August.
Date Night Movie #2: Mallrats (1995)
Many people, including us, think that Kevin Smith's first feature film should be a mandatory watch for everyone. Mallrats is a feel-good movie that launched Smith's "View Askewniverse" (yeah, they did a movie multiverse before Marvel). Jason Lee, Jeremy London, and Ethan Suplee all appeared in Mallrats as stars and will appear at Geek'd Con X.
Date Night Movie #3: Terrifier 2 (2022)
The Terrifier film franchise has quickly become a modern classic in the slasher genre. When the original movie was released in 2016, it was a short indie horror film that captivated audiences with its iconic and fittingly terrifying villain, Art the Clown. Art's actor David Howard Thornton will be joining Geek'd Con for a second time this year. The first and second Terrifier movies are a close case to the first and second Evil Dead movies, where the second movie is regarded as taking everything the first movie did and expanding on it with a bigger budget.
