After having to miss 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions, it's pretty exciting to have Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, back on the schedule for 2021. But the show is back on for 2021, with a return set for August 13th-15th at the Shreveport Convention Center.

Before the pandemic, Geek'd Con had become one of the biggest pop culture events in the region. With guests like Michael Rooker, LeVar Burton, Elvira, Peter Mayhew, Chris Sarandon, and more.

Now this year, Geek'd Con has returned with a big lineup, headlined by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Alice Cooper. Also appearing is Jason Mewes from Jay and Silent Bob fame, The Armorer from Star Wars' The Mandalorian Emily Swallow, Peter Facinelli from the Twilight film series, Murr from Impractical Jokers, and many more. Every year, one of the biggest parts of Geek'd Con is the access to the celebrity guests who attend the show. That includes the ability to get autographs in person, but also your chance to get pictures with those celebrities. Most celebrities are all about taking selfies at their booths, but they also give you the chance to have a professional photo taken too!

Professional Photo Ops are like a mix of concert meet-and-greets mixed with school photos. You get an opportunity to have your picture taken with the celebrity you choose, by a professional photographer, in a private area in front of a backdrop. You can even get your 8x10 printed out on-site (time permitting).

Comic Book Movie Stars Who Have Worked In Shreveport

We utilized IMDB's filming location database to help put this together. However there is one movie listed there that we didn't include. IMDB lists X-Men Origins: Wolverine on their Shreveport list, but we struggled to find citing for this. So we just left it off. Some of these stars weren't in comic book "movies" specifically. But we counted the Netflix Marvel shows, and MCU Disney+ shows as well.

Legendary Musicians Who Rocked The Hirsch In Shreveport

Here's a sample of the legendary musical acts who have played Shreveport's Memorial Coliseum over the last 60 years. The Hirsch was basically the homefield for bands like Van Halen and ZZ Top, who regularly put the Hirsch near the top of their tours. For that reason, we're actually not going to feature them on this list, because they were basically "house bands" for Shreveport...and that's NOT a bad thing.
