Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, is set to return August 19th-21st at the Shreveport Convention Center. The 2022 Geek'd Con will be the 7th show in Downtown Shreveport since 2015.

The guests for 2022 include Scream stars Matthew Lillard and Skeet Ulrich, along with sci-fi megastar Natasha Henstridge, "Peacemaker" star Steve Agee, horror icon John Kassir, Twin Peaks star Sherilyn Fenn, and AEW stars Darby Allin, and Danhausen. Plus a ton more.

There have also been a ton of comic book creators added to the lineup for 2022. Including the creator of X-Men member Rogue Michael Golden, Marvel's Zombie King Arthur Suydam, and Geek'd Con fan favorite Roland Paris, among others.

One of the coolest names on the list of celebrities scheduled to attend the show in Shreveport is Clint Howard.

He's probably best known for his memorable character roles in films like Apollo 13, Waterboy, and How The Grinch Stole Christmas. But he's also known as the star of horror film Ice Cream Man, and as a series regular in Gentle Ben. Not to mention he voiced Roo in Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree, and Hathi Jr. in The Jungle Book.

Many know Clint for his sci-fi work. Including playing Balok in Star Trek the Original Series. He has returned to the Star Trek franchise multiple times, appearing as Grady in Deep Space Nine, and Muk in Enterprise, as well as a recent cameo in Discovery.

It's not just the Star Trek franchise that Clint Howard has appeared in, he is also a Star Wars universe member. Which is the anniversary being celebrated today.

On this date in 2018, Clint Howard appeared in the nationwide release of Solo: A Star Wars Story. He played Ralakili, a small but memorable part. Which is pretty much most of Clint Howard's career.

In the movie, Ralakili runs the droid pits on Vandor where L3-37 revolts against the use of droids for entertainment.

The "mean man" in that scene, is Clint Howard. So its a small part, but a fun part of the film. It also gives Clint Howard a live-action appearance in both Star Wars and Star Trek universes. Which is something very few can claim.

Most of the actors and actresses who have appeared in both of the franchises have done it either in stunt work, or voice work. The only other actor who may have pulled off the accomplishment might be Greg Grunberg, although Deep Roy should get some credit in that area too.
