The Original 1996 Ghostface Actor is Coming to Geek’d Con

Shreveport’s premier pop culture event, Geek'd Con, is officially set to return to the Shreveport Convention Center this August. The 11th installment of the massive three-day convention will take place in Downtown Shreveport from August 14th through the 16th, 2026.

This event serves as the largest gathering of its kind in North Louisiana...offering a weekend of celebrity appearances, professional photo ops, and a massive vendor floor. It remains the primary destination for all fandoms in the Ark-La-Tex.

Legendary Ghostface Performers Coming To Shreveport

The 2026 guest list adds a massive piece of horror history with the addition of original Ghostface performers Lee Waddell and Allen Robinson.

Waddell is known as the man behind the mask for the iconic opening sequence of the 1996 masterpiece Scream. He is literally the first person we ever saw portray Ghostface on screen, making him the true OG Ghostface. He played the physical part of the role through most of the first film, having iconic kill scenes with Drew Barrymore and Henry Winkler.

Robinson is a Scream franchise veteran since the first movie, but didn't portray the masked killer until the 1997 sequel Scream 2. He physically played Ghostface for the majority of the movie, with Waddell actually filming some parts as well. But it was Robinson who has the opening Ghostface scene in the movie, with infamous kill scenes with Jada Pinkett Smith and Omar Epps.

But back to the first Scream, Robinson worked on that film too, and technically played Ghostface too. SPOILER ALERT. Robinson was the stunt double for Matthew Lillard in Scream...which, well...if you know, you know.

These two performers were responsible for some of the most intense and memorable moments in slasher history...especially that legendary opening Drew Barrymore scene that launched a global phenomenon.

Ghostface Gathering Lands In Shreveport

The two original Ghostface actors, Waddell and Robinson, will be joined at Geek'd Con by two other Ghostface actors. Scream 3's Ghostface Jeff Brockton, and Scream 6's Ghostface Max Laferriere will also be appearing at the show this August.

So far, it has been announced that 3 of these Ghostface actors (Robinson, Brockton, and Laferriere) will be doing professional photo ops in their Ghostface costumes. Meaning a Scream fan would not only be able to get four major autographs from the franchise in one place, but they can also get their pictures with the ACTUAL Ghostface actors from their favorite movies.
