Governor to Give Coronavirus Update at 10:30

The big question for the last few months has been 'when is Louisiana moving into Phase 3?' Well, this morning the Governor is slated to give a coronavirus update and he is expected to announce his decision on whether or not we will be moving into Phase 3 of the reopening process. The current Phase 2 declaration expires Friday.

Since the Governor implemented a mask mandate, numbers across the state have dropped dramatically - including the the hot spot regions in central and south Louisiana. However, following the destruction of Hurricane Laura, the Governor has stated numerous time that he's concerned with the lack of testing happening at the moment and he doesn't feel that he has a great read on the situation under the current circumstances.

Even though the Governor has expressed concerns, it hasn't been all doom and gloom. Over the past week or so, John Bel's office has approved both the Saints and LSU to have a limited number of fans in the stands. Is that any indication of what the Governor will announce today? We'll find out short but it is certainly not a bad thing.
