The Mayor of Flavortown, Guy Fieri, was putting in that overtime during Super Bowl week in Louisiana. There were rumors around New Orleans that Guy Fieri and his crew were in town working on Super Bowl events, and of course, doing all kinds of epic food appearances; however, we never knew he was planning to visit other cities.

A Louisiana Restaurant is Seeing a Boom After Friday's "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives."

The owner of Iverstine Butcher, Galen Iverstine, thought someone was trying to scam him when he got an email from the Food Network team. This eatery opened in 2016 but didn't start tableside serving until 2022. Fieri's team spotted this eatery so early in the game, and it is life-changing for a restaurant like Iverstine's.

Guy and his crew shot the episode during Super Bowl weekend, and it sounds like the TV crew was busy that weekend, because Ivertsine's is one of three restaurants featured on "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.". The other spots that got a visit from the Mayor of Flavortown were Dempsey's and Phil's Oyster Bar

Iverstine's episode premiered on Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" on Friday, April 18th. The episode is titled "Sandwiches, Seafood, and Sweets." Spoiler alert, we know that Iverstine's is going to get some love for their Cuban sandwich,

"Guy Fieri's getting into next-level seafood, sammies, and more! A joint in Baton Rouge, LA, is knocking out a killer Cuban, a Gainesville, FL, bakery is rocking an artichoke croissant, and a spot in Tallahassee, FL, is putting pineapples in the spotlight." Iverstine's owner did an interview with WBRZ.com, and his positivity was contagious. He shared some behind-the-scenes info, like, did you know they had to close down operations for two days to knock out the filming? Check out the full interview below.
