Is “The Office” One Of The Top 100 TV Shows Of All Time? [POLL]

Yes, I'm totally using this platform to settle an argument in our office, ironically.

I recently discovered The Office (American) on Netflix and it has transformed my life. This is tough to admit, but I can't get Dwight Schrute out of my head.

The Office stood tall as a hit-comedy from 2005 - 2013 on NBC. The show was shot as a documentary that was really something American viewers had never seen before. When The Office first appeared in 2005 with a six-episode first season, it was met with mixed reviews. The next four seasons received widespread acclaim from television critics, and were included on several critics' year-end top TV series lists.

While some may say the show's quality fell of in the latter-years, and Michael Scott's departure certainly hurt as well, no one can deny the show's success over it's 201 episode span. In 8 seasons, The Office racked up 42 Primetime Emmy Awards nominations, with five wins. It won for Outstanding Comedy Series in season two, Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Comedy Series. Steve Carell won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Comedy or Musical in 2006. The series was also named the best TV series by the American Film Institute in 2006 and 2008, won two Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series in 2006 and 2007, and won a Peabody Award in 2006.

I'm certainly not saying The Office is in my Top 3 or Top 5 TV Shows of all time, but I certainly believe it should be in everyone's Top 100 whether you liked the show or not.

One man disagrees with me and his name is Greg Atoms. Greg is a radio host on our sister-station, 99X, and is our office's Dwight Schrute. So naturally, he disagreed with me on The Office's quality, and states that the show shouldn't be on anyone's Top 100.

He even went as far as creating his own Top 100 which featured an animated Batman show in his Top 10. No sign of The Office and that is simply a travesty.
