Is There Any Thing For Kids to Do at the Red River Revel?
The Red River Revel is once again gracing downtown Shreveport's Festival Plaza, and that means it's time for the whole family to enjoy great music, food, and fun for 8 solid days! Last week, I reported on the schedule, food, and artists in an effort to get you ready for this party. Carter, Ginger, and I talked about the whole shebang on the Morning Madhouse and we got this question: Is there anything for kids to do? Not only is the answer a resounding yes, there is an entire area devoted to making sure kids get their Revel on too!
According to the official Red River Revel website:
A primary goal of the Red River Revel Arts Festival is arts education for children. Activities abound at the Revel! In fact, there is an entire area exclusively for children’s activities, complete with its own performance stage!"
On Saturday, kids can hang out in their very own area till 10 pm. On Sunday, it's open from 11 in the morning, till 9 at night. During the week, the hours shorten due to school hours, but there's still plenty of fun to be had Monday through Friday starting at 4 pm. Check out the children's area hours and full Revel map here.
As far as what kids can do there, the answer is a whole lot! There will be bounce houses and face painting, Sand and Clay arts, the mock archaeological dig, lots of games, and tons more! Plus, free activities with the Shreveport Aquarium, Junior League of Shreveport Bossier, and the Shriner’s Hospital. Here's the entire list.
See you there!
