Who is the Latest Geek'd Con Guest Announcement?
Retired professional skateboarder and award winning actor Jason Lee is coming to Geek'd Con!
Often you can use the term "best known for" to describe someone's body of work...but it's not that way with Jason. His career has featured so many major moments, every person probably knows him for something different.
Maybe that's Earl Hickey, the title character from the Golden Globe nominated show My Name is Earl.
Or his starring roles in movies like Mallrats, the Alvin & The Chipmunks franchise, Almost Famous, Chasin Amy, Big Trouble, Dogma, or Mumford.
Perhaps one of his other TV roles? Memphis Beat, Raising Hope, Up All Night?
Could be his voiceover work? Like voicing Syndrome in The Incredibles (and all the Disney games and spinoffs), or Underdog, or Charlie in We Bare Bears? Maybe Monster House...
Actor Jason Lee Was Once a Professional Skateboarder
Then there's the skateboarding. Lee was a professional skateboarder before ever trying his hand at acting. He was in the skateboard video release 'Video Days' in 1991, and has been featured in numerous other projects since. Including work with Tony Hawk on his video game Tony Hawk's Project 8, where Lee voices himself, and did the motion capture for the game.
Lee has been recognized by the skateboard community for being the person that made the 360 flip popular.
We know, it's a lot. But that's just Jason Lee. He's done A LOT.
You can come talk to him about any of these projects, and more, at Geek'd Con this August.
Who Else is Coming to Geek'd Con?
This year's guest lineup already includes a 35th Anniversary "Shell-a-Bration" for the release of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Including voice actors Brian Tochi (Leonardo), Robbie Rist (Michalangelo), and martial artists Ernie Reyes, Jr. (Donatello) and Kenn Scott (Raphael). The four Turtles actors will be joined by Francois Chau, who portrayed The Shredder in the TMNT film universe as well.
