As always, I'm a little late to the party on this week's featured game, but man, I am blown away by this one.

Without question, my favorite type of video game these days is first-person shooters. Granted, I do play a lot of sports video games, but I absolutely get the most enjoyment out of battle royale-type video games. When I was younger, I played an absolute ton of Grand Theft Auto, and later in my teens I fell in love with the Halo franchise.

It wasn't until the release of PUBG that I got a taste of battle royale. These games are simple. A large number of players drop into the same map at the same time, and the last one standing is the winner.

I loved PUBG the second it dropped, and have played PUBG Mobile more than any game over the past several years. I have also played Call of Duty Mobile extensively, but my skills on the console are lacking.

To put it bluntly, I am horrible at shooter games on console. Having said that, I spent a bulk of my vacation last week playing Call of Duty: Warzone on both PS4 and XBOX, and I have quite a few things to say.

First and foremost, it speaks volumes to how superior this game is by how happy I am when I play it, considering how absolutely terrible I am. I'm horrendous at Warzone, yet I can't stop playing it. Granted, on a great game I'll find a way to get 4 kills or so, but on average, I'm only getting 0-1 kills per game. Still, I can't wait to jump into the next game right away.

This battle royale is easily the best BR I have ever played. It uses many elements never before seen on a battle royal like a money/bounty system, and a gulag for opportunities to re-enter the Warzone after your first death.

I will say that I enjoy playing Warzone much more on PS4 than I do on XBOX. The game just feels smooth on my PlayStation, and the settings seem to work better for me.

This game is the top of the line when it comes to the battle royale format. No one else is even close.

9.6/10
