Mardi Gras isn't here yet, but Shreveport will have a night of elegance and excitement to celebrate the season early tomorrow. The Krewe of Centaur hosts their Midway coronation to the public every year, this time with a classic Hollywood twist. This Saturday at Live! Casoni, The Krewe of Centaur returns with a tease of Mardi Gras.

Experience 1920s Hollywood: Music, Auction & Coronation

This year's Midway celebration will be a 1920s Hollywood-themed party. All attendees are asked to wear era-appropriate outfits and costumes. Beloved local music group Caravan Band will provide live music for the evening.

Midway 2025 is more than just an event—it’s the official kickoff to Mardi Gras season in Shreveport-Bossier ... For me personally, it’s always been one of the highlights of the season—there’s something so special about seeing our community come together to celebrate, support the new royals, and set the tone for an unforgettable Mardi Gras.

More than just a lively atmosphere full of music and camaraderie, Midway will have a silent auction, gourmet dinners, and the Krewe of Centaur's coronation of the Krewe's XXXIV Royal Court.

Passing the Torch: Centaur Crowns New Royalty.

Not every Mardi Gras Krewe is the same way, so it might be a surprise to those new to town that Centaur does their coronation during their Midway celebration. Tomorrow night will be a passing of the torch, from Krewe of Centaur's Royal Court XXXIII to the next. Being Krewe royalty is a great honor to be given, and one that the entire Krewe and Shreveport at large will be watching.

This year, we’re rolling out the red carpet with a nod to Hollywood’s Golden Age, complete with dazzling costumes, entertainment by the Caravans, and the grand reveal of our new Royal Court.

The event requires a ticket for entry, and if you haven't already gotten your ticket you're out of luck. Tickets for the Midway Coronation will not be sold at the door, members of the public who wished to attend had to buy their tickets before August 6th.

A night that blends tradition, community, and the promise of a spectacular Mardi Gras season, even if it is 6 months away.
