Wrestling Icon & Gold Medalist Kurt Angle Is Coming To Shreveport
Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, is heading back to Downtown Shreveport for another big year at the Shreveport Convention Center. This year's event will be August 18th through August 20th.
This year, Geek'd Con is welcoming one of the greatest pro wrestlers ever, the Olympic Gold Medalist, Kurt Angle!
Angle won a Gold Medal at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta for Freestyle Wrestling. He was also a 2-time NCAA National Champion in Wrestling.
After winning a Gold Medal, Angle took his talents to the world of professional wrestling, where he went on to a Hall of Fame career. He became a WWE Grand Slam Champion, and Triple Crown Champion in both WWE and TNA.
Angle won 12 World Championships in his pro wrestling career, as well as more than ten other titles during his run.
He was named to the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017, the TNA Hall of Fame in 2013, and the Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame in 2004.
Since its start, Geek'd Con has been one of the premiere comic con style events in the state of Louisiana. The event has generated millions of dollars in economic impact to the Shreveport and Bossier City area. While also bringing in Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members, Star Wars icons, Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame members, and horror movie legends.
Over the last 7 events, an estimated 106,000 fans have come through the Shreveport Convention Center to enjoy the festivities. Fans have walked away with one-of-a-kind items, autographs, pictures, and unmatched experiences.
The 2023 dates are going to be August 18th through 20th. Geek'd Con 2023 will follow the traditional Friday, Saturday, and Sunday schedule. Opening with a Vendor Preview Night on Friday, where the public is welcome to shop from over 100 vendor booths with unique collectibles, hand-crafted items, artwork, and more. Vendors from all across the United States come to Geek'd Con every year, and offer a wide selection of items. That doesn't include the tremendous volume of local artists who attend the event every year as well.
