Louisiana Governor Challenges Joe Rogan To Host Debate
The Joe Rogan Experience is undoubtedly one of, if not the most popular, podcast of the last decade. One of Rogan's recent episodes sparked a conversation in Louisiana, putting the controversial Ten Commandments state law in the spotlight. Now, the state's Governor, Jeff Landry, is firing back and offering to make a guest appearance on the show to clear the air.
The Joe Rogan Podcast: A National Spotlight
On episode #2352 of the JRE, Texas State Representative James Talarico was asked by Joe Rogan about his stance on laws, such as the one in Louisiana, that would require classrooms to display the Ten Commandments. Representative Talarico explained that he feels "the bill was unconstitutional, the bill was un-American, -and I said I thought the bill was un-Christian." His answer caused massive backlash online, drawing the ire of many Christians across the country.
Governor Landry's Bold Stance on X
Just days after the episode went live and clips of Rep. Talarico's thoughts set social media ablaze, the Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry gave a response on X (formerly Twitter) and pointed out Louisiana was the first state to mandate the Ten Commandments in classrooms. The Governor went as far as to proclaim "the separation of church and state is a MYTH," because "God is the foundation of our great Country."
Governor Landry challenged Rep. Talarico's argument, inviting himself on the podcast to explain why he believes critics like Talarico are "dead wrong." Rogan has had several politicians on the show in the past, so it's not unlikely the Bayou State's Governor could have a chance to sit across from Rogan and explain his side.
