Louisiana Food Prize’s ‘Battle for the Golden Fork’ Set for Prize Weekend in Shreveport
These chefs are the best of the best, but what happens when they don't know what they're cooking with?
Do you ever watch the show Chopped on Food Network? I LOVE this show. Four chefs must make it through three rounds of cooking with basket of mystery ingredients. They don't know what the ingredients are until each round starts. It's such an interesting show about creativity, ingenuity, and... stress.
Well, we have our own live version of that in Shreveport!
It's called the Battle for the Golden Fork and it's put together by Louisiana Food Prize, from the makers of Louisiana Film Prize and Louisiana Music Prize. This culinary battle is something you'll see during Prize Festival Weekend alongside the Film Prize Festival and Music Prize Festival. The Battle will take place on Friday Septembe 30 at 7 p.m. in the 700 block of Texas Street in downtown Shreveport.
The competing chefs will be decided by the Society of the Golden Fork and the votes from the public on the Port Cities Dining Guide app. These chefs will be given a set of mystery ingredients and just one hour to create an amazing dish. A panel of Celebrity Judges will decide on the winner of a $5,000 cash prize.
And it's all free and open to the public, so no ticket necessary!
