Being a parent is the greatest earthly gift that God has ever given me.  The 2 kids that call me dad have brought me more joy than I ever thought possible.  They have also taught me a lot about patience, grace, and love - so I guess they're the gift that keeps on giving.  Because of my views on parenthood, I simply can not wrap my head around the case of Louisiana mom of 3 Brittany Degeyter (pictured above).

According to MyArkLaMiss, Degeyter is on the run from law enforcement officers who have more than just a few questions.  Chief among those queries is exactly how methamphetamines found their way into her 3 children's systems!

Reportedly, an anonymous caller contacted Child Protective Services (CPS) in St. Martinville, Louisiana after witnessing Degeyter smoke what is presumed to be methamphetamines in a car with her 3 children (all under the age of 10) present.  When officials from CPS visited with the family to investigate these claims, they took hair follicle samples from each of the kids - and all 3 tested positive.

Policy (and common sense) dictated that CPS contact the police right away, which is exactly what happened.  Officers with the St Martinville Police Department were looped in on the cruelty to a juvenile case CPS was already investigating.  Now, according to a statement from Police Chief Rickey Martin, an arrest warrant has been issued for Degeyter's arrest.

Unfortunately, it seems that this meth-head mom was tipped off.  When police showed up to arrest her, she had already fled.  Authorities are asking the public for help in locating Degeyter and any information about who may have been in the home with her and her children.  If you know anything, please call the St. Martinville Police at (337) 394-2226.
