Louisiana’s Best Mardi Gras Celebrations Outside of New Orleans
After all, we know how to let the good times roll in Shreveport-Bossier.
It's Mardi Gras season y'all! It's truly the best way to kick off the new year and for many of us, it's better than Christmas. Beads, King Cake, grand balls, parades... our love for letting the good times roll runs deep. Now, those outside of Louisiana may think the New Orleans is the only place to be during this season. And although they do put on one heck of a party, we know there are other big celebrations across the state.
I recently found a list of the Top 10 Louisiana Mardi Gras Festivals That Aren't In New Orleans on a website called Vacations Made Easy. Of course, you will find Shreveport on that list. They praised us for hosting some of the biggest parades in North Louisiana and drawing in more than 400,000 people in the process. They also loved the variety of Krewes in our area and shouted out the Krewe of Barkus and Meoux's pet parade.
Here is their list of the best Mardi Gras parties outside of the Big Easy (in no particular order)...
