M. Night Shyamalan’s Shreveport-Produced ‘Caddo Lake’ Gets Rating

A project, with M. Night Shyamalan's name on it, is brewing right now. It might actually be past brewing...we're probably almost ready to enjoy this thing.

The project is called "Caddo Lake", and it was filmed in the Shreveport area, based on stories about the local lake. The original title for the film was "The Vanishings At Caddo Lake", which is what it was known as when it was filming in the Shreveport area.

It was filmed between October and November of 2021. The film stars Dylan O'Brien, Eliza Scanlen, Lauren Ambrose, Eric Lange, Sam Hennings, and Diana Hopper. O'Brien is best known for his leading role in the Teen Wolf TV series and as the voice of Bumblebee in the 2018 "Bumblebee" movie with John Cena.

While Shyamalan's name is attached to the project, its as Producer. The film is written and directed by Celine Held and Logan George, who are best known for the film "Topside", which won the Jury Award for Best Director at South by Southwest. But with Shyamalan's production company working to bring this project to life, he will have influence over it. Which is why his name is being attached to it.

The film "Caddo Lake" has now received it's rating from the MPA. The film will carry a PG-13 rating for "Some disturbing/bloody images, thematic elements, and brief strong language".

So far, what we know about the plot of the film is what Bloody Disgusting has posted. Their synopsis is:

“The plot revolves around when an 8-year-old girl mysteriously vanishes on Caddo Lake, a series of past deaths and disappearances begin to link together, forever altering a broken family’s history.”

The only other thing that we know about the plot is that filmmakers were looking for "period specific" vehicles during filming. The time frame requested was from 1998 to 2004.

As of now, "Caddo Lake" is still listed as "wrapped", but does not have a release date.
