What Anne Rice series is filming now in New Orleans, LA?
AMC is currently filming season two of the Mayfair Witches in New Orleans. So, if you haven't seen season one yet, you have some catching up to do. What is Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches series about?
IMDB.com describes the plot as 'Follows a neurosurgeon who discovers she is the unlikely heir to a family of witches. She must contend with a sinister presence that has haunted her family for generations.' What they don't tell you is that the main character Alexandra Daddario as Rowan Fielding doesn't know where she came from and finds out that she's the 13th in a long line of witches and has powers she can't imagine.
The story embraces all of the spookiness that is New Orleans and was even filmed at the Soria-Creel house located at 3102 Prytania Street... and bears a striking resemblance to Anne Rice's former home, Rosegate House. In an interview in 2014, Anne said 'When I wrote “The Witching Hour,” I made the house I was living in, in the Garden District of New Orleans, on the corner of Chestnut and First Street, into the home of the Mayfair family of witches." She used it in several of her other books as well. Here's a look at the house they're filming at.
In case you're a fan of Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire TV series, it's set to come out May 12th on AMC.
