
Duo From Mortal Kombat Coming to Shreveport for Geek’d Con
Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, will be back in Downtown Shreveport this August. This will be the 10th Anniversary of the event, and will be held at the Shreveport Convention Center from August 22nd-24th. Over the last 10 years, the event has turned into one of the biggest comic con style events in Louisiana.
Who Are The Latest Additions to the Geek'd Con Guest Lineup?
This year, there will be a pair of stars from the legendary 1995 Mortal Kombat film, Chris Casamassa and Francois Petit. This pair played two of the most recognized characters in the whole Mortal Kombat franchise, if not in all of the video game world...Scorpion and Sub-Zero.
Casamassa was the original Scorpion in the 1995 movie Mortal Kombat, where he became part of pop culture history. This was the first time we got to see Scorpion in live action.
In 1992, Scorpion debuted, alongside Sub-Zero, as a playable character in the Mortal Kombat video game. The duo were an instant success with fans, and is still ranks as some of the most popular video game characters of all time.
What Else Has Chris Casamassa Appeared In?
Casamassa has appeared in films like Blade (yes, the Marvel movie), The Karate Kid, Sword of Heaven, A Mission to Kill, Shootfighter: Fight to the Death, and television series like Martial Law.
Speaking of TV, he was Red Dragon, one of the lead stars in the cult classic 90s show WMAC Masters. He appeared in more episodes than anyone else.
He’s also done stunts for various projects, including Blade, Walker: Texas Ranger, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and more.
Did Chris Cassamassa Play Batman In a Movie?
Perhaps his biggest role in the stunt world was playing Batman. He served as the stunt double for George Clooney as Batman in the film Batman & Robin.
What Other Mortal Kombat Star is Coming to Shreveport?
In addition to Casamassa, Francois Petit will also be appearing at Geek'd Con this August.

In the 1990s, you may have also caught glimpses of Petit as a member of the WWF's medical team. He appeared both during matches and in behind-the-scenes videos. Including the epic Undertaker vs Mankind Hell in a Cell match and the documentary Beyond the Mat.
He’s also appeared in films like CANNES MAN, FIRST STRIKE, and SWISHBUCKLERS (which he also produced).
What Other Celebrities Are Coming To Geek'd Con 2025?
This year's guest lineup also includes a 35th Anniversary "Shell-a-Bration" for the release of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Including voice actors Brian Tochi (Leonardo), Robbie Rist (Michalangelo), and martial artists Ernie Reyes, Jr. (Donatello) and Kenn Scott (Raphael). The four Turtles actors will be joined by Francois Chau, who portrayed The Shredder in the TMNT film universe as well.
