My Experience Riding with the Krewe of Centaur
I'm glad I'm writing this instead of talking about it on the radio, because I'm not sure when my voice will come back.
This weekend, I had the privilege of DJing/Hosting the Horseshoe Casino float in the Krewe of Centaur Parade. I love this krewe, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself during the ride. I stood at the top of the float for the three-hour parade, and I had the best seat in the house!
The crowd along the parade was incredible, all the way through. You could definitely see how the crowd changes throughout the route. In the beginning on Clyde Fant, you see families from near and far lining both sides of the road.
As the parade goes into Shreve City, the crowd gets a little younger, and the party gets turned up a little bit. Then, when the parade gets to the Duck Pond, all Hell breaks loose. I was surprised with the downright rowdiness of the Duck Pond crowd. I'm not kidding, I saw three fights near the Duck Pond during the parade, which is realy saying something because the Duck Pond stretch is the shortest, and the float is only in a spot for a few seconds.
I thoroughly enjoyed mysefand I hope they let me ride again with he Centaur Krewe next year!
